Maiden Gully primary school gets a healthy makeover

Bendigo UFS Pharmacies’ Building a Healthier Community Program is again a success as Maiden Gully Primary students have a new motivation outdoors to live healthy, active lifestyles.

In 2013, Maiden Gully Primary School received a $2611 donation from the BUFS Building a Healthier Community Program. They put their donation towards a new outdoor area to encourage physical activity; complete with a Shade Sail to protect students from harmful UV rays during the daytime.

“Our new Shade Sail and turf has transformed the centre of our school – Thanks to the wonderful support of local businesses BUFS and Maiden Gully Marong Lions Club,” said Doug Jones, Maiden Gully Primary School Principal.

Michael Fleming, CEO of Bendigo UFS Pharmacies says, “As a not-for-profit community enterprise, one of our key objectives is to support community initiatives with a health and wellbeing focus.”

UFS Pharmacies donate 50% of all new and renewed membership fees to your nominated community group. These funds are used for health and wellbeing initiatives within your chosen school or club.
